Jenkins will gives estate to mother after debts settled

The will of Warren Jenkins, hanged for the murder of his wife, leaves his estate to his mother Mrs. Ann Mary Jenkins after debts are paid. Dr C G Beard is named as executor and Howard Jenkins as guardian for the mother. The estate reportedly totals around 920000, with trustees to cover education and care, and court records filed in the district clerk’s office.

Harry Kerr Accepts Post With Railroad

Denver wire says Harry B B Kerr a longtime state child and animal protection official and former district attorney staffer for Denver has resigned from Wyoming state humane bureau and accepted a Dallas Texas post. He will work in special duties for W A Webb general manager of the M E and T railroad.

Jury fails to reach verdict in Mrs J L Weir gown theft case

After ten hours the jury remained deadlocked over the alleged theft of 500 dollars worth of gowns from Mrs J B Cecil. Mrs Weir testified she bought the gowns for 7.50 and later said she tried to destroy them, explaining they were found in a vacant Houston lot amid detective searches.

No Smokes In Laramie Sunday After Midnight

The Wyoming Supreme Court in Cheyenne ruled saloons must close on Sundays in Laramie and no liquor or cigars may be sold after midnight. The Smart case prompts enforcement across saloons drugstores pool halls and restaurants selling tobacco and cigars.

Boys Fined for Destruction of School Property

At Labramil Wyoming Edgar Hart of age pleaded guilty to malicious destruction of school property and paid a 10 dollar total fine including costs. Charles Spencer also pled guilty and paid the same. Charles Pula pled guilty and paid as well while Spencer pleaded not guilty with a later hearing. The Scoval district schoolhouse six miles northwest of Mulbrook station was wrecked with locks broken, windows smashed, desks disfigured and graffiti on the blackboard.

Dollar Dinner Postponed For Friday Date

The Dollar Dinner set for Tuesday, November 25, is postponed to a later date due to a Knights of Columbus banquet next Tuesday. Speakers had not all been confirmed and aims include new views for Cheyenne’s building and betterment. Impromptu talks will be added by attendees. The event will be in the Hotel Plains dining room with hopes the hall overflows. Local papers will publish the new date and arrangements.

The Pannonia rescued 71 men 82 women and children from the burning Balmes after a five day effort by Captain Juan Rulse and crew. Woman Teacher Captures Armed Saloon Robber

Miss Elizabeth Reagan a school teacher received praise from pupils after she confronted and disarmed an armed man at her father Patrick Reagan’s saloon and hotel. The intruder identified as Michael Reilly of Seattle demanded cash and customers but surrendered when Reagan secured her father’s revolver and ordered him to halt. He was turned over to police.
