John P White Case Postponed in Charleston

In Charleston West Virginia on November 18 the case of President John P White and other Mine Workers leaders indicted for conspiracy and restraint of trade was continued in federal court. None of the defendants appeared and private reports said prosecutors deferred the case on departure of officials. The district attorney did not comment.

Woman Dies in Peculiar Pencil Accident

Mrs Ida Sommerville aged 60 died in a Clarksburg hospital after falling asleep with a lead pencil in her hand. Her head dropped to the table and the pencil pierced her throat causing fatal wound. An Inter union report cites an average annual wage of 1023 dollars per member.

San Bernardino Cal November 18. J P McKinney deputy county recorder cured a knee injury after a fall from a tree. Twenty surgeons had said the injury was incurable and would leave him crippled, but his knee cap was dislocated and the fall returned it to place.

Sydney Nova Scotia reports Marconi perfected wireless telephone across the sea. An Atlantic test between Clifden Ireland and Glace Bay Cape Breton lasted about thirty minutes with success. Signor Marconi not in Ireland as he concentrates on the Clifden setup. London dispatch confirms the trans Atlantic telephone as an accomplished fact.
