Kendrick Obtaing Opening of Vast Wyoming Acreage
Washington March 28 Senator Kendrick secured a reversal of Interior Department policy under the 640 acre act. A designation covering 766 790 acres in the Lander district will take effect April 4 allowing settlers whose prior applications were rejected to enter. Kendrick argued the law did not empower denial of homestead entries and noted many success stories despite predictions of failure. The action raises total stock grazing and homestead designations to about six million acres.
