Flow of Poudre Shatters Records
On July 10 1916 the Cache la Poudre irrigation system began drawing water from its reservoirs. By the next day about 570 second feet came from the river with at least 2060 more second feet passing the intake near Windsor. Company officers say the free irrigation flow is ample for the season and has broken previous records. For over twenty six days prior the system drew at least 400 second feet daily despite no rainfall in the valley. Secretary Morse who joined the company in 1879 noted farmers use the abundant supply.
