Minnehaha Afloat Off Halifax With Ammunition On Fire

The Atlantic transport Minnehaha en route to London from New York is fighting a fire in No 3 hold with a cargo of about 15 000 tons including ammunition. The captain said the blaze is not serious and the ship is about 70 miles southeast of Halifax, with the crew around 100 and plans to return to Halifax.

United States to Seize Sayville Radio Station

In New York Harry Thaw rose from his chair and challenged Deputy Attorney General Cook to state on the record that he believed the alleged thirty fourth street rooming house whip beat stories. Lawson Denied New Trial Motion in Trinidad Murder Case

Auto Run Hits Two Children in Wyoming Duct Incident

Slashes His Sweetheart Then Ends His Life

In Holycomb in July King John Spangler, 24, slashed his sweetheart Monell Gates, 15, with a knife when she refused to attend a Fourth of July celebration. A farmhand who followed to Gates home joined in a confrontation, resulting in the killer ending his own life with the same weapon.
