The Liberty Bell will arrive in Cleyenne this afternoon and be on display for forty five minutes. A patriotic program for city women's clubs is planned with short speeches and a touching platform along the bell car for children.
Berlin reports the German response to the American note on submarine warfare and Lusitania sinking arrives for Ambassador James W. Gerard. Officials say the proposals remain unsatisfactory and could force a pivotal US position as the United States maintains its rights under international law.
A lone bandit robbed about a hundred tourists in twelve coaches in Yellowstone National Park, 15 miles from its western entrance. Soldiers were dispatched to the scene, two suspects are in custody, and the thief fled toward Jackson Hole. The incident coincides with visiting Imperial Shrine delegates en route to Seattle.
Washington July 9 General Villa telegraphed the American consular agent at Chihuahua Mexico that he led Carranza forces under General Hill into a trip and severely defeated them near Aguas Calientes. The consular report reached the state department today contradicting the Aguas Calientes dispatch which said Villa had been defeated and retreating. The state department was unable to clear up the discrepancy.
New Jersey July 3 Governor George A Carlson of Colorado declared the recent 12 000 vote for state prohibition decisive and final, praising women for backing the cause and warning that open saloons undermine government. He linked miners strikes to grog shop back rooms and urged delegates to press for nationwide prohibition.
Bedford Iowa July 9 four men held for alleged complicity in the murder of a wealthy cattleman and his son at Elam Iowa in September 1565. Attorneys say preparations protect the estate’s chief witnesses as authorities move to the next phase of the double murder case. Mrs Porter of Quitman Missouri is to appear Tuesday as a key witness in the killing and the burial of ninety thousand dollars.

In the Lords chamber at London on July 9 Lord Michael Hicks Beach urged rigid national and personal economy to cover wartime drains on Britain’s resources. He warned of higher direct taxation and heavy office cuts while funds fund war. Lord Middleton countered cutting education, sparking Lord Harding to defend maintaining educational facilities.
Saturday reports partly cloudy skies over Porrcast and Victoria. Light winds and mild temperatures expected through the day with no precipitation anticipated.
Offic ers believe Erich Muenter alias Frank Holt or confederates placed a bomb aboard the Atlantic transport line vessel near New York pier. The explosion in No 9 hold shattered the ship, with flames burning for two days until crew quenched them.
