Convention votes to back Wallace for agriculture secretary

In El Paso on January 12 the American National Livestock association over rode anti administration opposition to Henry C. Wallace of Des Moines for agriculture secretary. Wallace support followed charges the big meat packers led the opposition. The session, though contentious, marked a setback for the packing companies as discussion included broadsides against them.

Wade convicted of first degree murder in Nott slaying

Wade Elwood 3B. Wade, 28, was found guilty of murder in the first degree for slain George H E Nott at Nott's home in Ridgeport Connecticut on August 29 1920. The jury had six hours deliberation and the judge scheduled sentencing for tomorrow. The penalty is hanging. Wade smiled at the verdict as his father sobbed and the court was cleared before he left for jail.

State Farm Bureau Calls for Wyoming Board to Abolish

The State Farm Bureau praised the University of Wyoming extension work and urged a sufficient appropriation to maintain standards. It recommended abolishing the State Board of Equalization as inefficient and proposed diverting 60 percent of all royalties from federal lands to support education based on teacher counts.

Leslie Miller Named President of Local Business Club

FEICERS of the Chamber of Commerce for the ensuing year 1921 were elected yesterday at a special meeting of the new board of directors. Officers include Leslie A. Langdon Killed at Vladivostok by Sentry

Lieut. W. H. Langdon U S N was shot and killed at Vladivostok by a Japanese sentry. He had risen from private to lieutenant and served as engineer officer aboard the cruiser Albany. His death caused his mother to collapse. a letter to his father described Siberia as crazy and dangerous.
