Three American naval balloonists, Farrell, Hinton, and Minton, reached Ont after a sixteen day trek from Moose Factory. A heated exchange over a published letter led Farrell to strike Hinton, with observers separating them as they moved toward Cochrane.
Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting with about 100 members present. The session opened with reports and brief remarks from Archie Allison the outgoing president, Fred Hofmann of the Homebuilders' Association, and Wyre Powell of the Union Pacific. The meeting continued with additional discussion and ended with the expectation of naming the frontier board soon.
The Senate immigration committee heard testimony on the Johnson bill to ban immigration for one year but concluded the claim of an emergency was not proven by 380 witnesses. Some members expect the emergency to be proven later, others see no change until permanent laws are drafted. The committee aims to finish hearings this week and draft a report for the Senate next week.

He and his wife were imprisoned for opposing conditions in Russia, she starved herself to death in Reval on December 20, and he plans to return to America with harsh reports of Soviet life.
Pilot Cox of the air mail service flew through arctic temperatures for four hundred miles from Salt Lake City to Cheyenne. He landed an hour and a half after dark, half frozen, after a hazardous journey over western mountains by starlight. The cold was far more intense than in previous night landings.
In Athens on January 11 King Constantine rejected claims that Prince Christopher was offered the Albanian throne. He added that Princess Anastasia, Christopher's American wife, did not welcome the idea of ruling Albania.
President-elect Harding will take the oath of office March 4 with minimal ceremony. The joint congressional inaugural committee proposed administering the oath in the Senate chamber with no outside events, followed by a privateaddress to a limited audience including senators, representatives, justices, and up to 1000 gallery attendees.
Dublin Castle stated there was no truth in reports that authorities planned to extend martial law to Dublin city and county. The denial comes from the Dublin government amid circulating rumors.

Wiscaston January 11. The decision on deporting the Cork Lord Mayor O Callaghan who arrived as a stowaway without a passport was referred to President Wilson. The cabinet sought Wilson's advice to resolve a clash between Acting Secretary Davis's demand for exclusion and Wilson's challenge to state department jurisdiction until presented.
Governor Carey's message to the Sixteenth Wyoming legislature will be read to the house and senate in joint session at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The session occurs in the Hall of Representatives at the capitol building. The message discusses Wyoming's major governmental problems and is expected to interest attendees.
ASPER Wyoming Jan 11 J S Reeder a 50 year old wealthy Casper merchant and pioneer was shot and killed by an unknown robber in the residence district at about 630 PM after opening fire with a .25 caliber pistol. The assailant fled as Reed er fired four or five shots and the diamond ring valued at 1000 dollars worn by Reed may have drawn the crime. No money was taken and authorities suspect the motive may involve more than a simple hold up.
A brief clash in the chamber lobby between Leon Daudet a royalist and Alexandre Blanc a socialist ended with blows after a demand to halt Daudet s campaign. Daudet reportedly punched back, flooring Blanc as a history of dueling in Daudet s past is noted.
Sheriff reports a protectograph model H No 172964 used to pass altered checks in Cheyenne Casper and Green River. Leroy Divine George Walsh and two men named George and William Smith arrested after attempting $62 payments to two firms. Dr G L Strader identifies the suspects who also cashed a raised $62 check. Police say hotel management handed over the device and date stamp.

Chicago January 11. Baseball governance moved under federal judge K. Landis after the minor leagues voting body approved the national agreement already embraced by the two major league committees. A baseball commissioner with supreme powers is created and Landis named as the first holder of the office.
The forecast indicates a warming trend for Wyoming on Wednesday with higher temperatures continuing into Thursday. A mild to warm day is expected with chances of light winds and dry conditions.
Cheyenne claims top nail driving feats surpassing Chicago legends. Local driver H. B. Kremer reportedly hammered 3,177,050 nails during 1920 to build 29,941 doors, with Lawrence Hall driving 18,750 nails in ten hours. If the pace continued for 25 years, Cheyenne would edge past 79 million nails.
Mayor Taylor orders minnow-haha flooded ice area guarded by a chain gang wall and snow sculptures. Fire crews flood, then smooth the surface on inclined planes to make a glassy skating arena. He warns against early usage to protect the ice.
