President Taft warned he will not be deterred from calling an extra session of Congress to push the Canadian reciprocity pact. He said any Senate vote must test the agreement’s merits, not block an extra session. Efforts continue to win over lawmakers who favor reciprocity but oppose new session.
Glenn Curtiss performed a demo in San Diego showing land and water capability. He flew 15 miles over bay and ocean, touching both water and land in sequence amid a 20 mph wind. In Greeley Colorado on February 27 Frank Morton of Eaton and AH Trosla of Johnstown contest possession of a horse both claim to own. Morton says the horse Locas was in Caxer pasture. Trosla says he placed it there and paid for its keeping. Both men seek resolution, each calling the other honest as they plan a meeting to settle the claim.

Mrs Johnson died at the infant's birth.

Redding Calif February 7 In Kennet town the marching Industrial Workers of the World halted on the road to Fresno for rest. The group stayed at Baglee hall overnight and made up on benches while a public meeting raised a large collection for relief.
Denver February 27. No changes in senate voting yet as efforts shift to caucus backing. Senator Carringer circulated an agreement for a caucus among all Democratic legislators with daily meetings until fifty one sign, then a joint assembly vote. Several signatures appeared today. The dogs kept watch at his coffin and followed it home to Essex Street Emaciated and near madness officials fear they will starve or die. Captain Boles was inseparable from his animals who accompanied him on every journey.
