In official circles it is noted John prdillo Walter Newell and Peter prdillo will not seek change of venue for Hank Jennings murder near Laramie on September 7 1919. They will offer pleas of guilty to murder in the second degree. Rumor cannot be verified.
Harry Hynds announced near the end of the Cheyenne Rotary gathering that plans to extend the Plains Hotel westward to the First National Bank building were nearly finished, adding 80 rooms to the hotel. He noted layout remains to be decided but expected strong local support as the city grows, marking a major forward step for Cheyenne. The program also featured Mrs. T. Blake Kennedy singing A Little Bit Heaven, as the club celebrated the fifteenth anniversary of its founding.

President Wilson signed the oil land leasing bill to open millions of acres in western states for development. The measure covers oil coal gas phosphate sodium and shale lands with royalties set by bidding and prescribed minimums. The act channels royalties to a reclamation fund states and the government.
London February 25 The Irish home rule bill was read for the first time in the house of commons as a formality ahead of debate tomorrow. The measure closely follows Lloyd George's December outline and centers on creating two parliaments in Ireland, one for the south and one for the north.
Sheriff E. J. Smalley brought Fred Grothe from Torrington to Cheyenne after Grothe, a Pine Bluffs suspect in fraudulent checks, was detained there as a witness in a cattle-killing case tied to his father and brother-in-law. The Grothe family totals 44 with a deceased mother from influenza and several young children.
The House Military Committee, after a bi partisan vote, rejected adding universal military training to the army reorganization bill. The measure will be reported tomorrow by Chairman Kahn. Washington Feb 25 The railroad bill was sent to the White House with the president expected to act before roads return to private control next Monday. Other farmers in the organization urge approval in a letter to the White House.
Joplin Missouri February 26 Democrats in convention at ebb City unanimously adopted a resolution denouncing United States Senator James A Reed as a disorganizer of the Democratic Party and instructed the county's delegation to vote against him for either delegate at large or district delegate to the national convention in San Francisco.
London dispatch reports President Ebert has issued a decree to safeguard order in industrial West Germany. It proclaims death for arson with explosives or damage to property and for resisting authorities or violent or riotous assemblies.
Casper Wyoming reports an estimated population of 15 400 from the 1920 24 directory data. The method counts 7 700 names plus firms and removals and uses a multiplier to assign persons per name. The 1917 18 directory estimated 8 474, marking a doubling in two years.
Railroad officials in Cheyenne were reminded by the Federal Railroad Administration that the railroads will revert to private ownership at one minute past 12 oclock next Monday morning. Cheyenne will wake to private corporate control as all roads are returned nationwide.
