Assessors Propose Legislation Reforms in Taxation Measures
The Assessor's meeting last week urged legislative action on bills to tax bank capital, surplus and profits, appoint the Attorney General as tax advisor, apportion livestock values by time in each county, adopt the Montana Poll Tax Law, annual compulsory assessor meetings, county treasurers to collect taxes, shift to a numerical land enrollment system, raise the general school tax, reorganize tax columns, empower county assessors to inspect bank books, and auto registration fees. The recommendations go to county assessors and county commissioner chairs for consideration during the next Legislature.

An ermine was shot and killed yesterday on the Bart let ranch six miles east of Cheyenne after being spotted by Albert B Bartlett who was out hunting He described the white furred animal as a beauty longer than the weasel and noted this was the first sighting in the area.
