Leader's Christmas Dinner Aid Reaches Cheyenne Poor

The Leader reports a $200 fund met its goal and 800 baskets were prepared and distributed to Cheyenne's needy. Each 18 pound basket included turkey or large roast, canned goods, bread, fruit preserves, butter, sugar, coffee and more. Seventy five baskets went to those with tickets and five to shut ins, with Salvation Army cooperation.

Trial heats two defense pleas in dynamiter case

In Indianapolis on December 24 United States District Attorney Miller challenged the 12 defense lawyers to speak for J E Munsey of Salt Lake and Herbert Hockin former Iron Workers secretary. Miller accused Munsey of harboring McNamara and Hockin of starting the dynamiting scheme. Senator John W Kern argued for the defendants urging jurors to consider the distance from home and the burden of testimony. Kern attacked investigations in Los Angeles and denounced the so called third degree as abusive and improper.
