R Edward Leary of Hoho kus New Jersey killed Mrs Harold J Grayson of Paterson New York while they rode in a car near Tuxedo New York. He drove two miles with the body and Mrs Grayson's 12 year old daughter before drowning himself in a pond. Leary, a longtime acquaintance of the Grayson family, worked as a bookkeeper in a New York office.
House conferees retreated from opposing senate amendments creating an experimental air mail line from New York to San Francisco via Chicago and Omaha. At their request the Senate appropriation was trimmed from 1.4 million to 1.26 million dollars for the service.
Judge Mentzer grants a decree of divorce by default to William B. McKillip from Agnes McKillip after desertion. the couple wed on Christmas Day 1915. Earlier, Lola Ann Powdell divorced from Frank Dowdell on Christmas Day 1916 for desertion. their child remains with McKillip’s parents.
City officials placed police, four uniformed firemen, and six plainclothes deputies to deter a planned rotten egg attack on Dr Bulgin at the East Nineteenth street tabernacle. No disturbance occurred as guards monitored the auditorium.

In Los Angeles on April 2 193 at Santa Barbara preparations begin for Mercury the Pegasus like horse to fly from LA to Santa Barbara for the Ambassador Horse Show opening April 7. Lt Col Harvey Burwell and Lt David Thompson lead, with Miss Janto McPixton sponsoring Mercury. Mercury will wear rubber hoofs a hood and ride a rubber pad during the flight and landing at the Ambassador hotel grounds.
In Cheyenne a quarrel over a alleged affair ends with Myrtle Lewis shot in the right thigh inside the Sherman hotel room. Mrs. Downer is jailed, while her husband Mr. Downer is held for investigation and police raid rooms for evidence. Myrtle Lewis and local cafe waitress had earlier quarrel with Mrs. Downer.
Governor Carey has initiated the Wyoming budget system by sending offices blank estimates for 1921 22 to compile a two year budget for 1924. A special budget staff will be hired in the governor s office to handle the heavy workload as provided by the last legislature.

Harry C. Hoffman Wyoming labor commissioner and Harry Fox president of the Wyoming Federation of Labor were in Laramie yesterday aiming to settle the carpenters strike.
Sheriff Edwin J. Smalley of Laramie County calls for legislation to curb car thefts. He proposes an automobile title abstract, similar to real estate, listing all past owners and the original bill of sale to deter fakers. He argues buyers would be safer and thieves harder to move cars without trace.
Denver April 2 Recruit No. 4 in the drive to muster 2,116 men for the Colorado National Guard is L. C. Cook. Though a buck private now he once wore the silver leaves of a lieutenant colonel and commanded a medical detachment in France.
The April 2 report from Washington states all American Red Cross workers held prisoner in Siberia were released except Alexander Tweedie of New York who was ill with typhus. March 23 freed were Otto W. Owe New York Joseph K.R. Medill Jaroso Cole Warry J. Donelley Philadelphia Dr. William H. Ford Kingston Pennolna and H N Bonzo Maniqo. Nurses and doctors with the British Red Cross reaching Vladivostok from Tomsk were reported safe.
Washington April 2. A reduction of 705,660,000 in the national debt was achieved during March, the treasury reported. The national debt now stands at 24,698,000,000. Components include Liberty bonds 15,616,300,000 Victory short term notes 4,422,700,000 treasury certificates 2,667,220,001 war savings certificates 870,000,000 and about 1,000,000,000 in prewar bonds.
