Chicago April 3 Sixteen thousand five hundred rail yard switchmen in the terminals threaten a walkout before Monday morning, risking a total freight stoppage unless the demands of 700 striking employees of the Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul are met. Grunau, leader of the strikers, says the action stands. Brotherhood officials dispute his authority. A F Whitney aids in efforts to break the strike.
Washington April 3. Women favoring an Irish republic called off a Good Friday picket of the British embassy. Leader Mrs. Thomas Corliss said the state department was not responsible and had not communicated with the group. Police said the action breached international law, unlike prior White House protests.
Coblenz April 3 The Reichswehr captured Duisburg Rhenish Prussia and Ruhrort harbor after intense street fighting according to late afternoon advices received this evening.
Dayton Ohio April 3 Army officials at McCook experimental aviation field described the first test flight of a new tri plane as entirely successful. The half hour flight maneuvered over McCook field and into the country before radiators overheated the engines. Officials said the radiator trouble could be remedied and another flight is planned early next week. The airplane is protected by heavy armor and carries a cannon and three machine guns.
Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce members approve forming the Cheyenne Apartments company with capitalization of 250000 to build a 46 apartment 488 room structure. Six percent bonds and a 5000 yearly sinking fund are proposed to retire debt in fifteen years.
Mr and Mrs EB W Glafcke sold their residence at 2700 Carey Avenue to Judge William C Mentzer. The deal price was not disclosed. Glafcke had announced plans to relocate to California, while Mentzer already owned a prominent Cheyenne home.
The 1920 census reports Sheridan with a population of 9 175 shocking locals who expected at least 44 000 and believed Scion was Wyoming’s largest city. Protests claimed undercounting and a recount is anticipated as Sheridan’s census news marks a first for a Wyoming town since 1920.
Peter W. Collins presents a bolshevism lecture at the high school gym tomorrow night under Knights of Columbus auspices. The talk promises astonishing revelations and extends a special invitation to the American Legion. No admission charge.

New York April 3 The strike of New York harbor workers may be brought before a general conference of strikers and railroad general managers as the outcome of a conference held late today. Nothing definite was accomplished but labor leaders favored such a conference.
Yale won both the senior and junior varsity eight races on the Schuylkill river over the Henley course. The senior eight finished in 6 44 with Pennsylvania at 6 47.5.
Grace Downer, wife of Thomas Downer, faces no trial for shooting Myrtle Lewis after discovery of alleged infidelity. Myrtle Lewis lies wounded in hospital, with condition improving. Thomas Downer remains in county jail as authorities consider charges. The courtroom scene in Cheyenne ended abruptly when Judge W H Edwards wept and sent Mrs Downer home.
In Laramie Roy E Bergstrom followed his wife to the Prosecuting Attorney office and fatally shot her with an automatic revolver. After a tense flight to Bosler and back he surrendered to the sheriff as public outrage grew over the murder and divorce fight.
Six inches of snow fell in the district with total depth 6.6 inches from Friday to Saturday as measured by the weather bureau. Much of the snowfall occurred within two hours on Friday night and brought over half an inch of precipitation. Bureau instruments recorded 0.58 inch of moisture. The snow aids Cheyenne’s water supply for summer and is valued by farmers at about a million dollars. Late night snowfall diminished to negligible amounts resembling frost.
Evening sky over Cheyenne featured two large sun dogs before sunset and a luminous moon event with concentric rings and a five pointed star shape. Report notes ribbons of light and a later cross formed by intersecting beams before clouds obscured the display.
