The Phone Detective Guide to Family Footprints
A long, eclectic piece on phone directories and microfiche archives for Canada, UK, Ireland, and the US, highlighting genealogical research. It references the Family Footprints Genealogical Society, microfiche readers funded by grants, and calls for readers to share stories and help interpret historical ad placements and employment systems. It notes Canadian directories listing about 1,000,000 names, the Hereford Collection at Colorado, and a call to contact Paul Lacy for CD_ROM directories. It mentions runaway ancestry puzzles, a Bridlington Workhouse link, and upcoming society workshop details with contact numbers.
