Plans for Chetwynd's Hospital Redevelopment
Plans for a staged redevelopment of Chetwynd General Hospital, approved in principle, aim to repurpose seven acute care beds to continuing care and expand the emergency ward. The project includes a sun deck, a bigger labour and delivery room, a redesigned parking lot with a heliport, a sprinkler system, and a bridge to future interior upgrades. The Peace River Regional Hospital District will fund 40 percent, the Health Ministry 60 percent, with firm costs to be known next month.
