Electric car demo shows potential to meet demand
An 18 battery electric car built with 7 million dollars in federal funds was unveiled in Pasadena to prove electric cars can meet consumer needs for stylish, economical transport. GE Chrysler and Globe Union developed the four passenger vehicle with a top speed over 100 kph and a 190 km range at 59 kph, requiring an eight hour recharge from a standard outlet. It targets mass production in the next decade at about 6400 dollars.

Diesel Rabbit Best Bet For 1980 Car Buyers Ottawa
The federal transport department reports 1980 model fuel ratings led by the Volkswagen Rabbit diesel with five speed transmission. It uses five litres per 100 kilometres while rivals Chevette Civic and Acadian consume 7.8 litres. Jaguar 12-cylinder models use 17.6 litres.
