Trespass and illegal hunting rise with oil boom
Rural landowners near Groundbirch and Sunset Prairie report an uptick in trespassing and illegal hunting by transient workers from oil and gas camps. Ranchers say unmarked company trucks and debris appear on Crown and private lands, with at least one incident of towing a camp vehicle. Local officials deny a regional spike, noting only a minor self reported uptick in violations.
