Communityraises nearly six thousand for Slave Lake relief in Chetwynd
In Chetwynd residents and businesses collected about 6000 in cash food and clothing for Slave Lake fire victims. Celina Barber and Kelli Mounsey organized donations at the High Country Inn with a trailer donated by E5 Ventures and Valley Pure Water. Barber delivered goods to an evacuation centre in Athabasca and more loads are planned. Prime Minister Harper visited Slave Lake to assess the disaster as evacuees surpassed seven thousand.
