Mixed reaction as HST cut planned for 2012 14
Minister Kevin Falcon announced a two stage cut of the harmonized sales tax from 12 to 10 per cent by 2014. Blair Lekstrom of Peace River South says the change benefits border towns like Dawson Creek by reducing the provincial portion of the HST by two points. The first one point cut takes effect July 1, 2012, with another on July 1, 2014.
