First Peace Liard residency grads stay to practice North
The Peace Liard residency program affiliated with the University of British Columbia has produced its first two graduates, Dr. Jennifer Parker and Dr. Philip Fitzpatrick, who will practice in Fort St. John and Tumbler Ridge. The program aims to recruit and retain doctors in rural B C communities, with grads staying to serve northern populations. Parker, a Fort Nelson native, and Fitzpatrick, from Tumbler Ridge, emphasize the appeal of northern medicine and the broad, hands on training offered in smaller communities.
