Threaten to scuttle project in Tokyo LNG deal
Tokyo reports say Chubu Electric may cancel its 1.6 million ton share of a 2.9 million ton liquefied natural gas project with Dome Petroleum if work does not start within six to twelve months. Dome officials remain hopeful after securing bank refinancing talks and a BC government gas allocation boost amid NEB hearings and Dome’s financial strain. The decision could end the 20 year supply plan with five Japanese buyers if moved to cancellation.
