Fifteen NLC students graduate February 1 1985

Fifteen full time Business Office Training students at Chetwynd Northern Lights Campus will graduate February 1 1985 after a five month course taught by Gloria Millsap. The program covered typing accounting filing office procedures business English and related skills with a 90s class average and no dropouts. Nine students plan to enroll in the Computer Office Automation Course beginning February 4 also taught by Millsap. Aldermen praised a local group for years of effort and discussed Heart Bonspiel involvement. The Chetwynd and District Senior Citizens Society invited council to a January 27 potluck. R C M P to test hollow spike belts on highways

Attorney General Brian Smith announces a one year pilot starting Jan 1 1985 to test hollow spike belts in two Trans Canada zones including Ashcroft Lytton Boston Bar Hope and Colwood Duncan Ladysmith Nanaimo. Belts deflate tires to stop suspect vehicles and are intended to reduce risks.

Man Dies From Stab Wounds In Dawson Creek

RCMP report an altercation at a Dawson Creek residence on Saturday January 19 left local man Russell Lambert aged 31 with knife wounds. He died in hospital. Delmer Lloyd Lambert aged 33 faces second degree murder charges as investigators continue.
