Public meetings for Site C dam delayed to February in Fort St. John
The third round of open house public meetings on the Site C dam has been tentatively rescheduled to Feb. 19 in Fort St. John. Project manager Lachlan Russell cited coordinating with stakeholders and schedules as the reason for the delay. BC Hydro senior staff and DPA Group consultants will return to answer questions from earlier meetings, though not all concerns may be resolved. BC Hydro may still file for an energy project licence in April. Julie Paul of DPA Group was unavailable for comment. Randy Hadland of Peace Valley Environmental Association criticized the process as more proponent driven than input oriented.

Public meetings review urged for Site C energy plan
Hadland says volunteer groups push to reorganize the process with DPA and BC Hydro to better address public concerns. A public hearing on Site C is sought to discuss whether it is the province’s best energy option, with a consultation committee meeting planned by Julie Paul near month end.
