BC doctors push legalization of marijuana to curb crime
Health Officers Council of B C backs a Stop the Violence B C report linking B C s seven billion dollar illegal cannabis market to increased gang related homicides from 1997 to 2009. The study argues anti enforcement funding has failed to lower youth pot use and potency and calls for regulating the market to reduce crime and boost tax revenue. An Angus Reid poll accompanies the report showing broad skepticism about pot harms.
