Travel cards aim to speed border flow at Canada gates

Immigration Minister John Roberts announces a two month pilot issuing wallet sized travel cards to travellers entering Canada. The “green door red door” system will use computerized arrival and departure tracking to deter illegal migrants and speed Canadians and visitors through checkpoints. Cards must be surrendered on departure and non compliance could trigger searches. Authorities estimate about 50,000 illegal aliens exist and if successful the program may become permanent.
