Aerial cone collection used helicopters cutting and lifting treetops over five days. thirteen pickers stripped cones in six days yielding 104 hectalitres raw material with moisture loss during storage.

Two Drownings and Worker Death Reported Near Tumbler Ridge
Tumbler Ridge police report two fatal incidents in quick succession. Jack Walter Knott, 33, of Dawson Creek drowned at Bear Hole Lake after a canoe tipped. a companion survived. Another death, September 1, involved Robert Alexander Davidson, 33, of Victoria, killed at an asphalt plant base while working alone. Both incidents are treated as accidental. A forestry note describes 104 hectares yielding about 10 million seedlings stored for provincial planting, with seed management steps.

BC Hydro lowers 1993 electricity demand forecast
