Only woman working full time as miner in BC camp
Patti Dunn of Chetwynd is described as the only woman working full time with a mining crew underground at a British Columbia Railways Sukumba camp. The Rhode Island native is a shot-crete inspector, overseeing depth, compaction, and finish, occasionally directing crews to redo work. She praises miners as gentle and helpful and notes the camaraderie and safety training from the crew. Last week she traveled five kilometers into the Wolverine tunnel, adjusting to the gear required for underground work.
