Diversion of River for Maintenance Project Planned
Wilfur outlined a major maintenance project to divert a river this year. Planning began in November amid environmental hurdles. The work includes 500 metres of road, a side channel bridge, damming, fish salvage, water pumping, and reconstruction before returning the site. Permit reviews are about 30 days in. The river is not a spawning area and construction runs April to October.
