Willow Creek mine shut after trio of accidents
Chetwynd British Columbia Willows Creek mine owned by Western Canadian Coal has been closed until further notice after a sequence of accidents. One incident involved a D10 bulldozer sinking into a water filled pit. Vice President Bob Bayes described the event as very scary and noted the worker was instructed to clear and pump a water hole near a mined out pit but misunderstood the water configuration.

Spectra plans river diversion to repair Pine River pipe
Spectra Energy will dam and divert a section of the Pine River later this year to repair a pipeline. Team Leader Troy Wilfur cited a 2006 in line inspection finding a feature in the pipe about 52 km from Chetwynd between Willow Flats and Pine Pass.
