Illinois Youth Killed In Smith Center Car Crash
AP report says 19 year old Donald Wayne Schneider of Barrington Illinois died when a car ran off U S 36 east of Smith Center, overturned, and he was thrown from the vehicle. Passengers Arnie Newman and Stuart Kohler of Chicago escaped injury. The trio was en route to Chicago from Denver where they attend school.

Two Injured In W Main Crash In Neosho County
At about 10 15 p m Saturday two people were injured in a three car crash at 1009 W Main in Neosho County. Mrs Wallace Johnson 54 of 710 S Central and Felipe Gomez Gutierrez 39 of Humboldt were treated at Neosho Memorial Hospital. Johnson suffered pelvis and left arm fractures while Gutierrez had multiple rib fractures and cuts. He faces driving while intoxicated and reckless driving charges.
