Cars Damaged In Collision Near K39 US 59 Junction
A two car crash near the K39 US 59 junction caused about 1200 dollars in damage with no injuries. The drivers were Earl Jackson and his wife of Brownsville Texas, en route home from Iowa. Mrs Jackson followed too close and could not stop when Earl slowed for a turn. The other incident occurred on Main in Erie where Charles McKinnie and Mary Luther collided. Luther’s 1952 Chevrolet sustained 150 dollars in front end damage and McKinnie’s 1949 Ford had 50 dollars in rear damage.

Douglas man given option to pay fine or serve jail time
Louis Franklin of Douglas Arizona was arrested early Sunday on disorderly conduct destruction of property and resisting officers. In police court yesterday he chose a $90 fine plus damages or a county jail sentence. He was taken to Erie after the hearing for allegedly breaking a car rear view mirror and later breaking water pipes in his jail cell.
