BONNER SPRINGS Kas AP two persons were killed when their car slammed into a bridge abutment about five miles west of the town on the Kansas Turnpike. Victims were Larry K Florence 26 of Wichita and Melvina Delorise Williams of White Marsh Md. Florence apparently dozed at the wheel. The couple was en route to Kansas City to be married. It was the seventh and eighth turnpike deaths this year with four blamed on sleeping drivers.

Two Workers Burned In Flash Fire At Housing Project
Two workmen suffered burns after a flash fire at a housing project in Fort Leavenworth. Glen Shandy 38 Parkville Missouri sustained first and second degree burns and lacerations after leaping from a second floor window. Ronald K Shaw 14 Kansas City faced facial chest leg and arm burns while fleeing down stairs. An electric floor sander likely ignited fumes from the wood filler.

New Stabbing in Brooklyn Prompts Violence Clampdown
