President Eisenhower and Mexico’s Adolfo Lopez Mateos flew to Camp David for an overnight visit. They departed the White House by helicopter at 9 33 a m as Lopez Mateos joins a line of state leaders hosted at the presidential retreat. Jack Moran of Earlton faces charges of driving while intoxicated reckless driving and leaving the scene after a collision at 21st and Santa Fe around 6 20 p m yesterday. A 1950 Mercury driven by Moran hit Doris Hart 1953 Chevrolet at 19 N Western. Moran was arrested at home by Sheriff Jerry Sloan and due in city court today. Wanted Killer Is Captured In Holdup Try
James Palmer a 21 year old suspect in two killings and two shootings last month was captured by a construction crew during a holdup at the German Construction Co in Jerseyville at 7 am. Owner Lewis Gorman confronted Palmer as seven workers arrived causing Palmer to force Gorman and staff to the floor before the manager Earnest Pohlman opened the safe. Pohlman complied and Palmer took cash but Gorman knocked the rifle away and Palmer was overpowered by the workers.

UAW Sets Plan to Raise Strike Fund and Dues
