He was thrown from the vehicle and his wife Deana R Gifford was hospitalized with cuts and bruises. Polio claimed its fifth victim of the year in St. Joseph Missouri on Wednesday night. Mrs Doris Mae Hess 34 died of bulbar type polio in Missouri Methodist Hospital. In the same polio ward are three of her daughters Andrea four months Tammy six and Delanna thirteen all admitted recently. Mrs Hess had not had polio shots.

Escape From Fiery Furnace In New York
Mrs. Hilda Koch 24, wife of a Bronx building superintendent, escaped a gunmen who dragged her into a furnace.
