Two Die in Hiawatha Snow Crash
In Hiawatha Kansas two family members were killed and a newly married couple critically injured in a snowbound highway collision on U S 36 west of town. Mrs Rex Robinson of Sabetha and her daughter Shirley Robinson 16 died. Charles Edward Berry 27 a soldier at Fort Riley and Frances Marie Berry 25 were taken to hospital. The couple had married Saturday in Jackson Mississippi and were en route to Fort Riley when the crash occurred. Police suspect ice caused one car to skid into the path of the other.

Chanute children are being checked to determine how many polio shots they have received, Mrs. Margaret Wood, school nurse, said today. Forms to obtain the information were sent out yesterday for parents to complete. Mrs. Wood said the forms were sent to all the schools here, including St. Patrick's, and will be used to bring health records up to date.
