Mrs. FDR Dies at 78 a World Figure in NY Home
Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt, widow of the 32nd president and a niece of the 26th, died in her Manhattan apartment after a two and a half year battle with a complicated anemia and a late diagnosis of non contagious tuberculosis. Survived by five children, nineteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, she will be buried beside her husband in Hyde Park. Funeral details and memorial plans were announced with attendance expected from President Kennedy and former President Truman.

Pedestrian Survives Car Collision in Arkansas
In Little Rock a 19 year old pedestrian Juan Gonzales of Mercedes Texas was struck by a moving car but escaped with no injuries. Raul Ybarra also of Mercedes escaped unharmed after jumping to safety. The car suffered about 300 dollars in damage including a broken windshield and dented panel.
