Kansas Amends For Pay and Presidential Vote Rights
Kansas voters approved amendments allowing lawmakers to set their own pay and permitting residents to vote for president and vice president. The pay amendment passed 123,998 to 91,556 across 1,691 of 2,964 precincts, while the voting provision carried 181,300 to 35,836 from 1,831 precincts. Previously only a statewide vote could change legislative pay. The new voting rule requires 45 days residence to vote for president.
