Less Radiation From Strontium 90
An AEC official said Americans will receive far less radiation from strontium 90 produced by bomb tests than from natural causes. Merril Eisenbud, manager of the New York AEC office, gave conservative estimates of 12 to 18 percent of the natural dosage for a 70 year life. Strontium 90, a delayed product of H-bomb explosions, can cause bone cancer and the testimony was for a Senate House Atomic Energy subcommittee studying fall-out.
