Elite Vietnamese commandos raid Laos base amid border tensions

U S helicopters landed a small force of elite South Vietnamese commandos in southern Laos for a raid on a nearby North Vietnamese base about five miles from the border. In retaliation the North Vietnamese advanced 125 miles southeast, capturing and burning most of Duc Duc district capital near Da Nang.
