Six Charged After Chanute Fight At 12th and Highland

Police answered a report of a fight at 12th and Highland at 1 30 a.m. six Chanute men were arrested for intoxication and disorderly conduct. Names include Jack West Allan Shepard Curtis Washington Frank Watters Marty Barnhart and Oren Johnson. Bond set at 100 each. Authorities say bottle bricks and a shovel were used as weapons and the confrontation involved whites and blacks at a party hosted by Carol Hudspeth. Johnson treated at Neosho Memorial Hospital and several others released on bond as investigators prepare a full report.
