Rochester police arrested Rudith L. Willis 21 of Ontario after two months of searching for the woman who faced 65 unpaid parking tickets. She was found in a Building Department office directly over police headquarters and had her vehicle impounded when she could not post 650 dollars bail.
New Delhi AP dispatch says Pakistan’s military government seized control in East Pakistan news agency reports fierce fighting in Dacca with heavy casualties. Radio Pakistan claims army control restored, political activity banned, and an indefinite curfew across the eastern province home to about 70 million people.

Two youths, Michael J. Register 11 of Macon Georgia and Richard E. Batey 13 of Memphis Tennessee, were unharmed after ransom payments and a gunman’s demand regarding nude photographs at an art show. Michael was held nearly 20 hours and escaped after reclaiming an ID while police pursued suspect John Thomas Plummer. Richard was released after his father threatened to remove the photos from the Memphis show at the Memphis Academy of Arts.
