George Barcus 81 of Parsons died at 6 02 PM Monday at Mercy Hospital Parsons after a heart attack at his home. A veteran journalist he began at Ottawa Herald in 1901 and served as Parsons Sun managing editor until 1912. He later worked at The Chanute Tribune and retired as advertising manager in 1929. He returned to Parsons in 1948 with wife Floy Crawford Barcus surviving.
