Safe Stolen Here Found Near K C
A safe containing about 150 dollars in cash and 400 dollars in checks was stolen from the B F Goodrich store at 112 East Main Saturday night and later recovered near Kansas City Kansas. Police say checks worth 250 dollars and 1 35 dollars in cash were found with the safe along with ledgers receipts and other papers. Records were being returned to Chanute for accounting. The safe weighing 350 to 450 pounds was on wheels and marks indicated it had been rolled. The building was entered by prying a side door and the burglary was not found until the safe was located.

Cars Crash Eight Killed Near Peach Springs Arizona
A head on collision on U S 66, about 40 miles northeast of Kingman, killed eight people and injured four others. Victims in one car were Joe Williams 32 Hattie Williams Mary Collins all of Peach Springs. In the other were Henry Goke 38 of Albuquerque Gertrude Chavez 24 of Long Beach her infant son Richard and Josie Campbell 2 of Long Beach. Williams apparently crossed the center line.

Four people died in Kansas weekend accidents. Two Clay Center women Mrs. James Wittetoe and Mrs. R. O. Dunham were killed near Leonardville when a truck struck from behind during a blizzard. Truck driver Roger Sprague of Glasco was named by the Highway Patrol. Mabel Elizabeth Lindsley of North Platte Neb., died in a two car crash near Oakley on U.S. 83.
