Convicted Murderer Folk Dies in Gas Chamber
Carl J. Folk, 57, a former New Mexico carnival operator, died in the Florence state prison gas chamber after entering at 5:03 a.m. He was condemned for the torture murder of 22-year-old Betty Faye Allen in a Holbrook area house trailer on December 2, 1953, and the killing date was February 13, 1954. The execution followed a 1953 conviction for the Wattsburg, Pennsylvania native.
