Blood bank records best first day in three years

Highway and Turnpike Cooperation Resumed
TOPEKA Gov Fred Hall cleared the way for resumption of the Kansas Turnpike Authority project work by the State Highway Department. The agencies had halted collaboration in January for a reexamination. Hall ordered the Wichita Hays turnpike feasibility study to proceed after a conference with Highway Director Walter Ragan and turnpike Manager Gale Moss. The study is complete except for recording and correlating data.

Baby Sitter Attempts To Hold Up Taxi Driver
In Kansas City a 19 year old babysitter, Jo Ann Williams, tried to rob taxi driver Frederick Leon Miller with a butcher knife. Miller wrested the weapon away and held her until police arrived. Police planned to file attempted highway robbery charges. Williams said she needed funds for a bus ticket home to Tulsa Oklahoma.
