Sailing course offered at Chanute Recreation and Park
Patty Allen and other instructors lead a six week sailing course this summer. Classes run 6 to 8 p m Fridays and 8 a m to noon Saturdays at Santa Fe Lake. A $5 enrollment fee applies and swimmers certificate is required for participants.

Lloyd Dalton 58 of 620 S Katy died Tuesday from a self inflicted gun shot wound. He died at Neosho Memorial Hospital after being found by his wife Doris in their home. A WWII Navy veteran and Bell Telephone installer, he lived in Chanute most of his life and belonged to several local clubs. Survived by his wife and three sons with nine grandchildren. Funeral 2 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Chapel. Burial Memorial Park Cemetery with a church memorial.
