CIA and churches policy clash over missionaries abroad
CIA Director George Bush and Senator Mark Hatfield forged an April May agreement that allows CIA contact with missionaries abroad while dropping Hatfield's anti contact bill. The deal keeps U.S. clergymen as intelligence sources but leaves churches uneasy about use of indigenous pastors and relief workers. Bush widened the missionary definition to include relief efforts funded by religious groups. The church receives insulation abroad, yet credibility and policing concerns remain unresolved.

End of cronyism on American corporate boards said by Penn study
A University of Pennsylvania analysis argues outside directors are losing their rubber stamp status as cronyism declines. It notes directors spend more time, suggests staged appointments with defined hours, and urges pay rises to 15 000 to 20 000 dollars while stressing independence to avoid management clashes.
