Little Girl Rescued From Pool After Near Drowning
Ten year old Lorene Phillips of East Third Street was reported improving after a near drowning at the municipal pool yesterday afternoon. A 7 year old boy alerted rescuers, lifeguards and fire department personnel worked with artificial respiration until an ambulance arrived. Lorene, who may not swim, was found about seven feet from the pool edge in shallow water as hundreds sweltered on the hot day.
