Three people were injured in a one car crash near Elks Lake 22 miles north of Chanute at about 2 45 a m. Ward Barnett driving the car 33 was blinded by oncoming headlights and veered off US 169 hitting fence posts and trees ending near a spawning pond. Barnett will be charged with reckless driving. Meritt Criss Carol Hiser were hospitalized at Neosho Memorial Hospital with rib fractures a dislocated shoulder and a broken ankle. The car suffered about 1000 in damage and wrecker service was used.

Pair Bound Over To District Court In Forgery Case
James John from San Bernadino California and Craig Cooley from Sealey Oklahoma were bound over to district court and jailed in Erie in default of $2000 bond each after arraignment in city court.
